Call me Kit. No, really, please do. It’s the name I chose for myself when I was a teenager, and it’s the name to which I respond.
Don’t let my age (I’m 24, by the way) scare you. I’m well-aware of how young I am (and let’s face it, I probably know more about it than you do, considering we’re talking about me). I know I have a lot to learn, but I’m also willing to take the time and learn how to do it right.
I’m a perfectionist by nature, and an editor by craft. I have a passion for language, for the way we communicate our thoughts and emotions with a few well-chosen words. I believe in the power of the pen, and I wield said pen much more effectively than I would a sword. For one, it requires much less footwork and doesn’t require heavy armor (unless we’re writing a fantasy piece and we want to strive for accuracy; I would don armor for that if we could find some that fit).
I’m dedicated to my work, and I dislike unfinished business. Rest assured, if I say that I will complete a task, it will get done. What’s more, it will be done to the absolute best of my ability.
My view on life is simple, and is summed up in the words of one of my favorite authors:
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
– J.R.R. Tolkien
We may live for one short day or for decades. We may die at any moment. Our true worth lies in what legacy we may leave behind. I hope to leave behind a legacy of which I can be proud.
P.S. If you came here looking for my travels in Ireland, they can be found at my travel blog: Traveling Kit.
